Getting there:

How to get there : from South Africa, fly directly to Maputo with SAA or LAM. Road or air (helicopter) transfers from Maputo can be arranged (aprox $420 per vehicle or $1250 per heli trip each way. International flights must be booked by the client, transfers can be booked by TMC.

This private and exclusive barefoot beach camp is located within the Maputo Special Reserve, which is host to a rare herd of coastal elephants and other wildlife. It is also located on a rare and untouched stretch of coastal wilderness in which the marine encounters with whales, dolphins and turtles are not uncommon. Created with the smallest possibly footprint, the camp is set up on the beach under canvas and thatch. Activities include walks in the bush & along the beach, fat bikes, kayaks, SUPs, snorkeling, shore & boat fishing, game drives and more.

Rooms:

At Anvil Bay, there are 10 chalets and 1 family chalet with a maximum of 22 guests, which makes the experience very exclusive.

The camp was designed to be built with as little as possible, so as to celebrate the pristine, natural environment.

CHALETS:

There are a total of 10 units, located a few steps from the beach, but nestled in the coastal forest.

They are built from natural materials with local craftsmanship boasting simple functional furnishings and fine linen.

There is a well stocked minibar and beverage station, luxury indoor and outdoor showers and a private dining deck en-suite.

The thatch and canvas design takes advantage of the cooling ocean breezes and the canvas sides can be rolled up to truly get in touch with the natural surrounds. 

COST:  $415 per night per night sharing

Includes : Luxury accommodation in a forest casinhas, all meals, mineral water, soft drinks, juices, teas & coffees, laundry service (same day service not guaranteed), complimentary wifi (subject to availability), community levy ($6), Mozambique sales tax, non-motorized activities.

Excludes: visas, flights and airport taxes, all transfers, excess luggage, all alcoholic drinks, motorized activities, guided ocean fishing experiences, game drives, village tours.

FAMILY CHALET:

There is only one family chalet, that has a King-size bed with two singles.

They are built from natural materials with local craftsmanship boasting simple functional furnishings and fine linen.

There is a well stocked minibar and beverage station, luxury indoor and outdoor showers and a private dining deck en-suite.

WHAT’S TO DO:

The best of the bush and the beach means that there are many terrestrial and marine activities to be able to partake in.

Activities include experiences like the beach walks, dune forest trails, beach bikes, sea kayaks, stand up paddle boards, snorkeling trips, body boarding, ocean safaris, whale watching, shore fishing, ocean fishing, rock pool exploration, beach games, turtle nesting walks (seasonal).

There are also guided tours of the Maputo Special Reserve which take approximately 4 hours to seek out the rare herd of coastal elephants and other amazing creatures.
