KIPILA:

Meaning ‘plover’ in Kimwani is the perfect castaway retreat.

The villa boasts four ensuite rooms that overlook the ocean and a children’s room. 

The bathrooms have been creatively designed to feature elegant gardens within them.

Guest areas include a spacious sitting room, sparkling pool, entertainment area and a tower inspired by the Portuguese lighthouse on the island.

Meaning ‘forest weaver’ in Kimwani is a spectacular blend of Arabic influences and contemporary finishes.

The villa boasts four ensuite rooms and a children’s room with bunkbeds and an adjoining childminder’s room.

The master bedroom features a small area, with two single beds for children.

Guest areas include a spacious dining room, private beach sala, a swimming pool and an entertainment area.

PAPILO:

Named after a genus in the swallowtail butterfly family is spacious beyond measure.

Set within acres of verdant forest, this villa offers a roomy dining area, thwo large sitting rooms (one overlooking the beach and the other with a lovely open fireplace), a convivial bar area, swimming pool and private beach sala.

There are four spacious ensuite bedrooms, each with their own private deck and living area, whilst a further two ensuite rooms, built as “treehouses”, can be accessed by a suspended walkway.

Meaning turtle in Portuguese, this villa is set within three acres of lush forest, the ultimate Robinson Crusoe hideaway.

This luxurious five-bedroomed villa is great for groups. Three ensuite rooms have a private deck and spacious sitting room – the master has an adjoining area that can accommodate two young children. The remaining two bedrooms are situated in the canopy of the forest in the tree houses, which are linked by a star gazing deck.

Guest areas include a freshwater swimming pool, a spacious sitting room and sala.

Meaning ‘coral’ in Kimwani is back by a lush forest.

Master bedroom has spectacular ocean views and boasts a private pocket beach and ensuite bathroom.

The second ensuite room is also sea-facing and has a private veranda that leads on to the beach. 

Two childrens rooms are set back into the forest and feature an ensuite bathroom.

There is also an ensuite treehouse bedroom.

Guest areas include a relaxed mezzanine level, a library and court yard with swinging chairs and hammocks.

Contemporary decorated and palm-thatch roofs create a beach-chic atmosphere in this villa.

There are three ocean view ensuite bedrooms for adults, whilst children have a hideaway of their own in the form of two rooms with two sets of bunkbeds and a shared bathroom.

One of the childrens rooms has a small adjoining area, big enough for a single bed to accommodate a childminder.

The treehouse room is suitable for either adults or children.

Guest areas include a split-level living, dining and bar area, a sparkling swimming pool and a tower with the games room and satellite television.

WHAT’S TO DO:

Although you may never want to leave the comfort of your luxurious villa (which pretty much has everything you want), you may want to visit the activities center, where you can partake in specialized activities such as scuba diving (recreational or full courses), deep-sea fishing, guided shore fishing.

There is also a full array of other non-specialized activities, which include castaway picnics, dolphin and whale watching, snorkeling, kayaking, dhow cruises, guided nature walks and turtle watching and releasing (when possible).

Definitely something for everyone on Vamizi island – you will not be bored!
